About Vampirism
|
Real vampires do exist. Not the supernatural kind, who are afraid of garlic and wooden stakes..., of course, but people who think that drinking the blood of other people is just dandy, from
Carol Page, "Bloodlust: Conversations With real Vampires". And then it was that I said goodbye to the sunrise and went out to become a vampire. It was.....the last sunrise, from
Anne Rice, "Interview With the Vampire"

So..you may ask what is the Vampire or Vampyre as most of you will know the name..you think of the undead maybe and bloodsucking creatures who are predators of the night..or you have a picture of Bela Lugosi in his infamous role in the Hollywood movie or of some other actor in film such as the popular movie made of Anne Rice's "Interview with the Vampire"..an immortal who gives eternal life with his bite and blood.....

There are many who seem to have this infatuation with the life of the vampyre..so much for all the films which have been made about them that portray this immortal nighttime soul who feed on the blood of the living to live themselves..the undead as thy are too often known and there is usually a fair young damsel who is the victim.....

But what of them?..have you or anyone else seen the vampyre that our own movie screen would have us believe?..and then there are many other immortal beings we would have to believe such as satan, god, angels, demons and many more which also have been portrayed on the screen..do we then have a fascination with souls who have greater powers than ourselves and live forever?...the history of writing about the Vampyre goes back centuries and it would seem there is a great preoccupation with these undead creatures and their clans..but that does not concern me here..for i wish to speak of the Vampyre i know who lives among us today.....

Maybe you may have heard of the name..Kindred..which most will agree is a vampiric soul somewhat related to the immortal Vampyres we know about but with not the same powers or eternal life..then many will attest to enjoying the taste of blood and many do not...and what does that make them?..Kindred have unique powers, empathy and magic being among the strongest. The blood, the life force we crave is the power within it. Through the years, many Kindred learn a control to handle the bloodlust, but even at times the strongest become weak. Many have experienced a time when they have suppressed who and what they are to a certain degree because they were made to believe against it. But those who were born vampyres always knew and rebelled against what was tried to be embedded into their minds.
Just what are real vampires?... Yes vampires drink of the blood of others but do not require it for life and some do not care for it at all. One learns to control this need to a certain degree. Even the strongest have their moments of weakness. You will hear many different explanations about this from each Vampire you speak too. Consuming too much blood may well be harmful. It takes small amounts to satisfy the need for blood. By ingesting to much blood, one could get throat infections, and also become very nauseated.
Consuming large amounts of blood, could cause you to become sick and vomit because blood is a natural emetic. But that does not apply to every Vampire, each one is their own individual. Also the amounts vary, Safety requires that one use a stainless steel Device which is sterilized each time, a lancet works very well for some. Each Vampyre is different on the amounts they consume. But the key is why do they drink blood? It is WHAT the blood holds. It is the energy. Vampires are energy feeders like no other.
The Vampire is a complex person, yes a person where certain qualities may be recognized. There are those who draw their strength or energy from the blood of others, And there are also those who derive their energy from their psychic abilities, the ability to "see" auras and the motivation of others, and the ability to "read" emotional energy.
In the sense that so many years are needed to perfect a method where as the donors have no knowledge that they are indeed giving of this energy. As to the length of the emotional " high ", the duration depends on the size of the meal. In small doses, as I imagine is true with blood, there is a need to feed more frequently. But a psi-vamp, well schooled, has a unique advantage over a blood vamp, they can feed on an unlimited supply at one sitting.
Some vampires who claim to be psi-vamps, use their mind and body energies to manipulate the life energy they absorb to a purpose. This often includes manipulating people, reading minds, and generally getting what they want out of life. Most vampires can do these things, so they could all be classed as psi-vamps as few actually drink blood and even they seem to psionically absorb the life force within the blood. Psi-vamps seem to become a little more energized by draining/contact, but they experience none of (what I call) the benefits of the blood.
Physical enhancements do not (as far as I have found to date) occur in psi-vamps. Merely an overall rush and/or emotional enhancement. True there generally exceptions to the rule, but I haven't found them yet. I *have* found them and psi vamps being in the same person. That is to say - one person being both. *This* is more what I perceive the 'real' vampire as being. One who gets an emotional rush, able to drain will/emotion, manipulate a person and drink from a person to glean the enhancements that the blood brings.
I still think that while there are emotional and perhaps other mental highs associated with the psi-vamp, I am trying to see a manner of sustaining life and enhancing physicality with psi-vampirism. There may indeed be something more non-corporeal involved - another elusive fact I suspect. I would be interested to note if there *are* any life-sustaining or physical-enhancing properties to purely psi-vampirism. I have found that psi-vamps are energy/emotion drainers. Also manipulators. Whilst they are not so much a vampire in the traditional sense, they do exhibit vampiric behaviour only inasmuch as to take 'sustenance' from another. As a matter of fact some psi-vamps actually manipulate situations so that the emotional high can be sustained and/or brought on so that they will have something to feed off.
