Nothing says "I can't say that all vampire movies are absolutely the most entertaining
things that I'll ever watch, but there are some good ones. Movies like Blade and such bend the myth a little further, but the story itself was good and the action halfway decent. Don't get me wrong, movies like Interview With A Vampire simply hold no contest for such things like Blade, but it is (in a sense) rather intriguing to watch considering that it's not too often where you get to watch
short movies like these as opposed to documentary type movies which can go into a seemingly myriad amount of hours."
Umbra White-Wolf says "I think that QOTD was a good movie and all u ppl that r complaining that it was different from the book, well u r wrong. It was different, but in a good way. If it was exactly the same as Anne Rice tells it, noone would bother going to see it cause it would be the same... get my point?? But what do I know? I'm just a lonely-only vamp-maiden from Australia *groans* Ppl already think I have Schizophrenia... Stuart Townsend Rules!Come out, Come out, wherever you are..." vampireEXPERT says "all you people have to be the stupiest people ever if you think dracula 2000 was a good movie, it is so stupid and doesnt even follow up on the real dracula. and for all you people that think queen of the dammned was better than interview of the vampire was you have to be stupid, but i will agreed that, that townsend guy did play a better role of lestat then cruise did!! but seriously now how did you think dracula 2000 was good? if any of you guys read brom strokers dracula, you would know what i am talking about, draula 2000 was based on brom strokers version and it didnt follow up on it at all. how could judas iscariot be dracula?? dracula isnt based on judas iscariot he is based on Vlad dracul the impaler!!!!!!!" Moonslight says "What is it that drives us to find others due to our dark natures and likes? Is it due to our need to have another person with which to share our thoughts and views with or is it so that we can have someone who understands us completely? I think that all of us need someone in some capacity in our life paths so that we do not have to be alone in all that we think and do. It is both for enlightenment and companionship. We cannot go through our life paths with no one to even speak with on some level. Whether it be for merely voiceing that which is within our minds or to truly have another that cares about everything that we think and do. Our darkness tends to keep such company to a minimum at times, but it also keeps us unique from all others. Those that we do come into contact with tend to be longer lasting and more of a Family than those who would rather judge and listen to myth and misconception of one kind or another. I would never trade my darkness for more of a mundane life in anyway at all. Would you?" Visions says "How anyone can say that QOTD was/is a good movie I have no idea. Yes Stuart was good BUT the whole movie was wrong. It certainly stuffs up the story line and anyone who has read the books would be highly saddend by it. I can not understand how anyone could have made a bigger mess of a great story. be well and be safe." Damien says "Well here we go again, Blade2 comes out today. I actually went to the theatre and saw Blade 1 which despite all the action and effects, I walled away from that thinking here is a really wacky slant to a vampire movie. When you think about it, all this shit about the "blood god"? and here is this crusader, "Westley Snipes", out to save the world from this evil vampire. Now we have vampires that are both good and evil, instead of the traditional way Holloweard treats all vampires as evil blood sucking creatures that kill you. The Blade idea is certainly not Anne Rice or John Carpenter or any of the others. Anyone seen this flick yet? Thinking, maybe I will wait and rent this fucker on video" Demonica says "I agree with you there Damien, I think the whole story line with "Blade" is just bizaare. You will have to add that one to your Poll, I am sure we will see enough people going to see it, another attempt by Westley to save the world against evil vampires perhaps?, *lol*" J.R. says "My favorite vampire movie wasn't on your list so I'm letting you know what I think. I'm not into anime', but I think Vampire Hunter D-Bloodlust, is the greatest vampire story ever, even though it's not live action. The hunter and the vampire, are two of the coolest characters ever. You need to check it out." Dunya says "ok i'll tell you one of my most fav vampire films. Don't laugh.... Vampire Circus, one of hammors attempts at horror . I loved it. I like new and old. I add to my collection everyday. my mate even liked some off the wall vampire movie I recorded last week called Amercian Vampire LOL . It was the stupidest film yet. Going to show that man a good Vamp film when I find one." Damien says "Well I have been hearing about the New Anne Rice movie, Queen of the Damn. So what do some of you think who have seen it? I am waiting for public opinion before going to get amused by another Rice movie. I have heard that the soundtract is good, so I may get a copy of that from somewhere. Any opinions?" Demonica says "I have not seen it yet either Damien, I am always working so it seems, so it has been difficult to find the time. I liked the sound tract of Dracula 2000, so I would love to get another that is good." Imon says "Queen of the Damn was a better moven than what I thought it would be, considering I did not like the movie version of Rice's Interview. And yes the soundtrack is decent, I recommend getting that. Akasha's character was better than I thought, however Lestat's was the shit. Anyway I would say it is worth seeing once nonetheless." winterrain23 says "i seen the movie queen of the damned and it was a good movie, i love a good vampire movie" Randi says "The movie was great! If you haven't read the books, that is. The plot was completely butchered by whatever company decided to produce this film. Sure, Stuart Townsend's portrayal of Lestat was incredible, and I'd even go so far as to say it was better than that of Tom Cruise. Marius did not make Lestat, dammit! What the hell is wrong with these people? Did they EVER even look at the book? If I was Anne Rice, I would be veeeery upset, and I would begin hunting movie producers... However, great film for those who have had no connections with the series of novels." AthenaRaven says "Greetingz... In the list of movies I miss...Vampyr in Brooklyn with Eddy Murphy! That's my favorite anyways. Blessed Be! Enid says "I agree with Randi's comment! Also, this (film) just might spell the death-throws of the Goth culture. Once a major movie producer gets ahold of any subculture, it (the subculture) has a bad habit of dying in the hands of those who exploit it. Wave bye, bye ... sigh. AnarcheVamp says "I actually liked Queen of the Damned It. It was better than Interview With the Vampire if you ask me. And the soundtrack is awsome. It comes highly recommended" Lady_TerestaPersonally, I have to agree with Randi about the Queen of the Damned Movie. The movie was way off the books. Frankly, I was pissed off by the poor quality of the movie. I would've expected better from Mrs. Rice. The movie was very rushed and totally unrelated to the books. It's a waste of a good ten bucks. The Sountrack is the only thing worthwhile about the Movie. My Favourite All time movie has to be Dracula 2000. The Movie was awesome and the soundtrack was great, For those of you who haven't seen it yet, I truly recommend renting it." Teles says "I thought that Queen of the Damned was a great movie. Although I agree with those who say that the plot from the book was butched by the producers of the film. But taking that into consideration it was a decent movie." Kernik says "Just to be different, has anyone gota fondness for Romero's "Martin" as a vampire flick. Not that I realy expect anyone here to take Hollywood personaly and all. Death throes of goth culture...the only goth culture I've ever seen is in line to see movies like these. Somehow I think A.Rice has gotta be more upset over the butchering of "Exit to Eden" than a flashy and shallow screen adaptation with a fairly desent sound trax." |
